At this week’s Saturday Forum titled Planned Parenthood: A Broader Perspective, we will host Dr. Kate Shaw, Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette’s new Chief Medical Operating Officer.

After completing her ObGyn residency at OHSU and her fellowship in Complex Family Planning at Stanford University, Dr. Shaw spent the next 14 years at Stanford in significant leadership roles, including Director for Family Planning, Director of Ambulatory Gynecology, and Chief of Gynecology and Gynecologic Specialties, overseeing seven subspecialty programs across two hospital systems.
In addition to her clinical leadership, Dr. Shaw has over a decade of experience in medical education, serving as Stanford’s Residency Director for ObGyn, Fellowship Director in Family Planning, and Associate Chair of Education. She is a committed and award-winning researcher and has led and mentored numerous clinical trials influencing guidelines in abortion and contraception and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Society Family Planning.
Wherever she goes, Dr. Shaw’s commitment to trauma-informed care and inclusive practices has fostered an environment where both patients and staff feel valued.
