Michael Harrison
Michael Harrison joined OHSU in January of 2013 to manage local government and neighborhood relations. A graduate of Portland State University's Master of Urban and Regional Planning program, he is a former transportation planning and community engagement consultant and has 13 years of experience working on the staff of elected officials. Michael's primary responsibility is facilitating OHSU's operations and development activities. In this role, Michael helps build consensus with local and regional agencies, elected officials, non-profits and citizen and business groups to ensure OHSU can function and grow in a constrained urban environment.
Michael serves on numerous civic boards and committees and is currently Chair of the South Waterfront Community Association. He also serves on the boards of the South Portland and Homestead Neighborhood Associations, the boards of the non-profits serving South Waterfront Community Relations and Pioneer Square, and sits on the City's Prosper Portland Budget Advisory Committee. Formerly, Michael was Chair of PSU's Institute for Metropolitan Studies, Co-Chair of the Portland Utility Board and served six years on Portland's Development Review Advisory Committee.
